A college for Royal families\n\nIn 1886 the building was designed by Bhai Ram Singh and built by Sir Ganga Ram, one a leading architect and the other a leading builder of that time. This was such a rare college in India in which Gurudwara,temple and mosque were present. Now the temple and gurudwara are closed since 1947.\n\nThe college is named after the then Lt. Governor of the Punjab, Sir Charles Umpherston Aitchison.\n\nIn this video, Scenes of students saluting the camera, walking in group; of the College buildings and grounds; students wearing pugrees, and of general views of the College. Scenes of 'Sports and Pastimes': horse riding, gymnastics; football match; field hockey. Several close-up portraits of some of the students.\n\nThere are many benefits to living in a diverse, caring and strongly-focused boarding community, but none more so than gaining a network of close friends in a secure and positive environment. A boarder quickly finds a home away from home' at Aitchison, and we welcome boys from all backgrounds. Being part of a close-knit community, boarders are able to connect on a deeper level and build life-long friendships.\n\nBoarders have access to a glorious 200-acre campus that offers a wide range of educational and sporting facilities. Boarders work and play as part of a team, and gain a true sense of what it is to be an Aitchisonian. By the time they graduate and become an ACOBA member, they look back with lasting happy memories.\n\nThere are 6 boarding houses at Aitchison, all with excellent facilities. A boarder's life graduates from Gwyn (Years 1-5) to Saigol (Years 6-8) to Bahawalpur (Year 9), and then to one of the 3 senior houses: Leslie Jones, Godley, and Kelly (Years 10 to 13).\n\nBoarders have access to excellent on-campus medical staff. Excellent leadership programs and assigned responsibilities ensure that boys learn the value of independence as well as teamwork.","id":"nMNuJZTw66o","oembed":{"author_name":"Baseerat e Lahore","author_url":"https://www.youtube.com/@BaseerateLahore","thumbnail_url":"https://i.ytimg.com/vi/nMNuJZTw66o/hqdefault.jpg","title":"History of Aitchison College Lahore 1938 c , A college for Royal families"},"platform":"youtube","read_as":"an anonymous visitor: the page, not the player (the player is behind the platform's sign-in wall)","relative_date":"2y ago","source":"public_watch_page","subscribers":"6 subscribers","title":"History of Aitchison College Lahore 1938 c , A college for Royal families","uploaded_on":"2024-07-08","views":"0"}
