AITCHISON ENJOYS EXCELLENT CAMBRIDGE RESULTS
I am so pleased to report that our boys have performed extremely well overall. The following grade distributions compiled by the Vice Principal’s office tells a very positive story. Indeed, 2019 stands as the College’s best year in quite some time. We look forward to even better results in 2020. Given that in final A Levels 35% achieved grades from A*/A, and 62% from A* to B, senior teachers deserve hearty congratulations, too. Our outstanding university offers also held firm with these results and predicted grades were overwhelmingly accurate.

We wish all boys well in their future studies and career paths. C2 and H1 boys especially should be enrolling for counseling meetings as soon as possible. All boys are expected to use College counseling. This service is free.
Grade Distributions for AS Levels, 2018 & 2019
AS Level is a crucial year as it helps boys establish a strong foundation for the final A Level year. 2019 produced even better results than 2018. Please note that A* is not an awarded grade in AS Level. 36% of boys achieved A grade and 78% achieved grades from A to B. This is very promising.
O Level Grade Distribution
The following graph compares 2018 C2 O Levels with 2019 C2 O Level grade distribution. 18% of boys in C2 in 2019 achieved a grade of A* and 60% achieved grades in the A* to B range. The increase in A* is an outstanding result.
The undeniable conclusion one draws from this is that school attendance and working closely with teachers and guidance counselors are the means to success. Successful boys invariably commit to the Aitchison ethos and make the most of school resources. They put their ‘heads down’ and get involved in a healthy program. Our Headmistress and her team have done a marvelous job in preparing boys for their finals and managing an excellent broad curriculum. The work of our Academic Office is also consolidating excellent teaching practices in the Prep and Junior schools.
