Boys entering M2 are on the cusp of Senior School and already taking on National subjects in Pakistan Studies and Islamyiat.  In Term 1, we will be exposing M2 to early University Counseling advice and subject selection, as a form of basic information. After Spring Break, M2 boys become Pre C1 students in Senior School. While there is excellent coordination between Prep and Senior faculties, it is the right time to expose boys to senior preparations and expectations. They will also sit  'Pre C1 Examinations' in February, 2023 in subjects they have chosen for IGCSE. They are, therefore, very well prepared. Boys will also choose between two curriculum streams as they enter Pre C1. Final subject selections/changes may be made towards the end of this academic session but no later than the end of the first two weeks of Term 1, 2023. National stream is for those boys who wish to qualify for universities/colleges in Pakistan, as well as overseas. They must sit for English, Mathematics, Pakistan Studies, Islamyiat and Urdu in IGCSE without which they will not qualify for local institutions. These boys must pass a minimum eight subjects by the end of C2 to gain equivalence and qualify for promotion to AS Level in H1. Most boys take an extra subject (9) in IGCSE to minimize the risk. Boys should attain a minimum C grade in subjects they wish to study in A Levels. For boys (mostly international passport holders)  certain of only applying for university overseas, they may choose the International stream of seven IGCSE subjects of their choice, avoiding the three national subjects.  We recommend seven subjects.Boys will be counseled throughout the year by both Prep and Senior staff. Getting M2 boys into good study habits and disciplines is now crucial.
