THE SOIREE FRANCAISE A French Evening was organised by Prep School and Senior School jointly The Soirée Française was held on the 14th of January 2017. This Senior School event was organised by Prep School and Senior School jointly this year. Rehearsal started on the 2nd of January, during the winter vacations. There were eight participating schools and colleges for the poetry recitation competition, competing in two categories, 11 to 16 year olds and 17 to 21 year olds. Aitchisonian, French Club boys entertained the audience in between the recitals with songs, dances and skits. Our Prep School boys enthralled the audience with a lively group song, entitled, "Le vent dans les voiles," (The wind in the sails). Mian Farid Said and Mominn Nabeel Nawaz performed a heart-warming dialogue between a penguin and his mother. The penguin dreams of discovering the world of colours and to meet up with the jungle animals; (for everything around him is black and white). Last but not least, Rayaan Mirza sang a solo jazzy number to thunderous applause, entitled "elle me dit," (she told me) about a mother's anxious advice to her son.
