Prep and senior boarders will now be offered optional boarding from Wednesday January 26, until further notice. This does not mean boys may come and go. Should they leave, they become temporary day boys and may not reenter their boarding houses. Boys who attempt to reenter will face very serious disciplinary consequences. Aitchison is still faring particularly well with the virus, as boys are vaccinated. By making this offer, our primary motive is to extend compassion to families at a very testing time for everyone and especially those with siblings. This decision also brings all three schools into line and allows families to make choices that best suit their individual situations. Of course, my staff and I will continue to be fully engaged with all boarding houses, and valuable tutorial systems will continue for those boys who opt to stay. Boarding is not closing. Prep boarders who take-up this special leave will be able to access online classes. Seniors may engage with Online Saturday class and regular posting of school work. The Heads of School will clarify further details, if necessary, although boarders are well acquainted with these practices. All boarders must be met and collected from car parks or designated areas only. No family members or family assigned people may enter boarding domains. Please observe security instructions on parking.
