AITCHISON COLLEGE, LAHORE From: The Principal 19" July, 2025 Subject: Update on Car Entry Charges and Sustainable Transport Initiatives Dear Parents and Guardians, We hope this message finds you well. This is in reference to the upcoming significant adjustment to the car entry charges at Aitchison College, which will take effect from the coming academic year. This decision has not been made lightly and comes after thorough consideration of several important factors impacting our College community and environment. Over the past few years, we have observed a significant increase in vehicular traffic during drop-off and pick-up times. Managing this volume requires dedicated staff, enhanced traffic control systems, and increased security measures to ensure the safety of all our students. These operational costs have grown substantially, necessitating a revision of the car entry fees. More critically, the environmental impact of this traffic has become a growing concern. The congestion around the school not only causes delays but also contributes to increased carbon emissions, directly affecting the air quality our children are exposed to daily. As an institution committed to sustainability and student well-being, we must take active steps to address this issue. To help reduce individual car usage, we have already launched a carpooling application developed by our administrative team. This app is designed to connect parents within nearby areas who are willing to share rides, making daily commutes more efficient, affordable, and environmentally friendly. Additionally, the school has recently invested in new air-conditioned buses and coaches, offering a comfortable and reliable alternative to private car transportation. We encourage parents to explore this option as a safe, eco- conscious, and cost-effective way for students to travel to and from Aitchison College. We understand that any increase in fees is never ideal, and we are grateful for your understanding and cooperation. Our collective cfforts will make a lasting difference in ensuring a safer, greener, and more efficient school environment for our children.
