The Importance of Sports in an Aitchisonian’s Education
Dear Parents,
Abraham Lincoln is often quoted as having wished that his son’s teacher would help him learn that true education is not confined to books alone, but also lies in honesty, hard work, fairness, resilience, and courage. At Aitchison, we share this belief. Character is not built only in the classroom; it is also forged on the playing fields.
Sports is not an optional extra—it is part of our curriculum. It teaches teamwork, discipline, humility in victory, and grace in defeat. It strengthens both body and mind, preparing boys to face life with confidence and integrity. When your son signed up to be an Aitchisonian, he also signed up for this holistic education, where sports is as integral as academics.
To uphold this standard, every boy must attend his two designated sports days each week. Failure to do so will result in a fine of PKR 800 per day of absence. A minimum of 90% attendance in sports and games is required for eligibility for any leadership position at Senior School. This is not simply a rule, but a reminder that responsibility and commitment are part of the education we promise your son.
We look forward to your continued support in nurturing well-rounded young men who embody the true Aitchisonian spirit.
Regards,
Amina Kamran
Headmistress, Senior School
