Prerequisites for Not Declaring AS Level Results
Dear Parents,
I hope this letter finds you well. As we approach an important stage in your son’s academic journey, I wish to draw your attention to the requirements that must be met in order for a student to withhold their AS Level results when applying to universities.
AS Level examinations are a crucial milestone and must be taken seriously, as they form the foundation for university placements and future career opportunities. However, in exceptional cases where a student experiences a first-time dip in performance, the option of not declaring the AS result may be considered. For this to apply, the following prerequisites must be met:
H1 Mock Examination Results
The H1 mocks will be regarded as the last cumulative and most important grade benchmark if the AS result is not declared, particularly while deciding their predicted grades.
No Grade C in IGCSE Subjects
Students must ensure there is no grade C or below in any IGCSE subject. This is a strict requirement for not declaring AS results, as a C grade raises concerns about readiness for advanced coursework and can negatively affect university applications.
Composite Examination Requirement
If a student decides not to declare his AS results based on the agreed-upon criteria, then he must take the composite examination for all his subjects.
Your encouragement and guidance play a vital role in ensuring that your son maintains a consistent academic record and prepares confidently for higher education.
Best Regards,
Amina Kamran
