Building Bridges: Across Cultures, Across Languages
Aitchison College Junior School has embarked upon an enriching Language Enrichment Programme for K6 learners, introducing boys to the vibrant worlds of French, German, Persian, Arabic, and Chinese. Announced at the beginning of the academic session on 31 August 2026, the programme was formally inaugurated by the Principal, Dr. Syed Muhammad Turab Hussain, at the Junior School Auditorium on 30 September 2026. Conceived as an opportunity to give young learners an engaging flavour of different languages and cultures. The programme seeks to nurture curiosity, cultural awareness, openness, and an appreciation of linguistic diversity. Conducted twice a week, the classes are delivered in collaboration with Prep School and Senior School, with experienced language teachers visiting the Junior School to introduce the boys to their respective languages and cultures.
The inauguration featured six K6 presenters who delighted the audience with greetings and short expressions in the languages being introduced, creating a lively and memorable celebration of linguistic diversity. Carefully curated displays, visual arrangements, and cultural elements further transformed the space into an immersive introduction to the countries and communities where these languages are spoken. The inaugural gathering also provided an opportunity for the boys to meet their language teachers and establish an initial connection that will shape their learning journey.
Through this initiative, Junior School hopes to broaden horizons, cultivate intercultural understanding, and inspire a lifelong interest in languages as bridges that connect people, cultures, and ideas.
