Passing of Sardar AmarSingh (Ambi) (Aitchison College, 1946 to 1947)
We are deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of College Alumnus Sardar AmarSingh (Ambi) on Tuesday, July 22nd, 2025. He joined Aitchison College, Jubilee House in 1946. Though his time at the College was cut short due to the Partition of India and Pakistan, his love for his alma mater remained unwavering. He later completed his schooling at St. Paul's School in Darjeeling. An avid sportsman who played cricket and hockey during his time at Aitchison, he later developed a passion for golf while studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland. He even represented India in sports. Throughout his life, Ambi stayed committed to various sports and social organizations, holding leadership roles in the Indian Golf Union and other bodies. The College Community will miss him and his legacy.
