Old boys' engagement with the school comes in many constructive forms. Only recently, Mr. Ahmed Wattoo engineered a alumni mentorship program, drawing in talented old boys from here and overseas to help with university and career advice. Over the past year, Messrs. Mian Khalid Rehman (Board member) and Raja Yassir Humayun (Minister HEC and Board member), along with old boy provincial politicians, helped draft and secure the passage of a new Educational Bill that will enhance governance and management in selected schools and raise school autonomy in key areas of operation. Mr. Usman Malik spearheaded the establishment of 'Friends of Aitchison' in New York as a vehicle for donations. Mr. Salman Akhtar established our Metacognition Faculty with a list of outstanding old boy speakers. Throughout the year ACOBA continues to invigorate our sporting life in many 'friendlies' with the boys. Our Alumni officer plans regular old boy tours. And we have received generous donations from a number of old boys to construct new facilities and renovate old ones. Mr. Adil Sattar, for example, has committed to construct a new senior boarding house, and another is on the way soon thanks to pledged generosity. A visit to the Old Building and Aitchison Hall will demonstrate what the commitment of many people 'giving back' can achieve. Being an active old boy can be expressed in many ways that strengthens the College. The most important thing is to get involved.
