Aitchison College expects that its boys will not tell a lie, will not cheat or take unfair advantage of an unfortunate situation. 'is a potentially dangerous attitude that needs tempering with good judgement or common sense, otherwise a boy's moral and ethical compass can weaken. We speak regularly to boys about forming good and reliable habits and being courageous in assessing personal progress with objectivity, whether in or outside the classroom. Boys should know that we accept mistakes as being part of life and part of trying. We honour effort and authenticity. However, there are some 'mistakes' that we cannot tolerate. Boys who disrespect teachers, cheat, lie, consistently break rules, systematically bully, physically assault or engage in verbally threatening behaviour cannot remain at Aitchison. Fortunately, we have a very safe, very supportive and very happy school and such incidents are extremely rare. Our approach and signalling to boys produces excellent outcomes.
