GERMAN
AIMS
German has the largest number of native speakers in the
European Union and it is among the ten most commonly
spoken languages in the world. The aim of German IGCSE
and AS-Level syllabus is to enable students to communicate
confidently and clearly in the target language and develop
insights into the culture and civilization of the countries
where the language is spoken. It encourages positive
attitudes to language learning and a sympathetic approach
to other cultures and civilizations. It fully supports
intellectual and personal development by promoting
learning and social skills to form a sound base of skills,
language and attitudes required for further study, work and
leisure and provide enjoyment and intellectual stimulation.
NATURE OF COURSE
GERMAN IGCSE - 0525
This course is mainly divided into 4 components, i.e. Listen-
ing, Speaking, Reading and Writing.

GERMAN AS-LEVEL – 8683
This course is divided into 3 components, i.e. Speaking, Reading and Essay Writing.
