ACOBA donates to Langlands School (Chitral)
ACOBA Executive Committee proudly participated in Hi-Tea at Principal’s residence on Saturday, 21-Oc-
tober, 2017 in honour of Major Gregory Douglas Langland’s 100th Birthday Celebrations. To honour the
life-long services of Major Langland and his impact on Aitchisonians in particular and the education
sector in general, Mr. Shahjehan Ayub (President ACOBA), Mr. Usman Haq (Vice-President ACOBA), Mr.
OmerQureshi (Gen. l Sec. ACOBA) and ACOBA Executive Committee Members presented a cheque of
Rs. five hundred thousand to Mr. Michael Thomson (Principal) for the Langlands School (Chitral).
ACOBA Committee members vs. Aitchison staff Cricket match
ACOBA kicked off the grandest and most challenging ACOBA Sports Calendar ever with a wonderful
cricket match between ACOBA Committee Members and Aitchison Staff at the Main Cricket Ground on
Sunday, 03-December, 2017. Mr. Michael Thomson (Principal) and Mr. Andrew Egan (Headmaster Prep
School) led the Aitchison Staff cricket team. Aitchison Staff lit up the beautiful morning with wonderful
stroke led by a magnificent century by Iqbal haider. In reply, ACOBA Committee could only muster 186
for loss of 6 wickets. The legendary Pakistani cricketer and prominent old boy Mr. Majid Khan graced the
occasion along with Mr. Shahjehan Ayub (President ACOBA), Mr. Usman Haq (Vice-President ACOBA)
and Mr. Javed Zaman Khan (Director Sports ACOBA) as well as many family members of old boys and
Aitchsion Staff.
ACOBA Big Bash Cricket League 2017
ACOBA also organized the biggest old boys Big Batch Cricket League to date with Ten Batches participat-
ing [1989, 1994-95, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006] in the three day T-10 extrava-
ganza at the ACOBA Cricket Ground. ACOBA Executive & Sports Committee is indebted to Mr. Michael
Thomson (Principal), Mr. Khalid Noon (Bursar) and Mr. Shahid Mahmood (Director Sports) for their
tremendous support in making the tournament a huge success. Excellent cricketing was seen on all three
days with Mohsin Saleh (Batch of 2002) demolishing the opposition with a brilliant 108 off just 38 balls.
There was excellent bowling by Zain ul Abideen (2004), Shaan Lashari and Uzair Afridi (2006).
