AITCHISON COLLEGE
LAUNCHES METACOGNITION PROGRAM
The Aitchison College Metacognition Programme commenced
on September 13, 2017. The program involves a series of
lectures for AS level students by our Adjunct Faculty comprising
Old Aitchisonians from esteemed Universities.
The mark of a great educational institution is the reach of its am-
bition: the ideal is an education versed in the liberal arts, the nat-
ural sciences, social sciences, and an appreciation of the
breadth and interconnectedness of knowledge.
The metacognition program at Aitchison seeks to add significant
breadth to the current scope of instruction. With a commitment of
approximately two hours per week per student, the Adjunct Fac-
ulty is helping students broaden their knowledge base beyond
the curriculum taught in their selected subjects to better integrate
and succeed in the highly competitive global environment of
today. The program is another step forward towards providing an
environment of learning to students in line with the practices of
the best schools in the world.
Old Boy Salman Akhtar (MIT) has taken a lead role in this initiative and all members of the Adjunct
Faculty have shown great enthusiasm and input. Mr. Salman Akhtar, Mr. Omar Khayyam Sheikh, Mr.
Salman Akram Raja, Mr. NadeemBabar, Mr. Nauman Zaffar, Mr. Asim Loan, Mr. Malik Amin Aslam
and Mr. Omer Saeed have already delivered lectures on topics that span the areas of History, Paki-
stan, Economics, Science and Life Skills.
