ACOBA ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (AGM) – 2024
The Annual General Meeting of ACOBA was held on Friday, 22-November, 2024 at the Old Building Hall, Aitchison College, Lahore. Worthy
seniors and a strong gathering of over 250 Old Boys attended the important meeting. Annual Report was shared by General Secretary Mr.
Omer Qureshi which included an overview of the past year's activities and programs conducted by ACOBA. Annual Audited Accounts were
presented by Treasurer Mr. Jalal Ahsan including the savings generated by ACOBA that will be donated to the College in line with past
successful practice. Mr. Shahzad Sultan, Vice-President gave a speech on behalf of the President Mr. Usman Haq highlighting the importance
of ACOBA in supporting positive steps in making Aitchison a hallmark of success in Pakistan and a name to be reckoned with internationally.
He shared ACOBA's efforts had resulted in the College Hospital being renovated and extended, Rifle Shooting being back as a sport,
Electronic Scoreboard at the MCG among other initiatives. ACOBA welcomed the Principal Aitchison College, Dr. Syed Turab Hussain who
encouraged the Old Boys to support the new initiatives taken by the school in adding more accommodation for teaching staff as a necessary
support to further improve academics. He also welcomed support by Old Boys and ACOBA in other school initiatives especially the proposed
endowment fund to provide scholarships to underprivileged Students. Esteemed Old Boy Mr. Nawaz Tiwana also addressed the gathering
inviting Old Boys to unite under the banner of ACOBA to foster stronger alumni ties. At the end of the AGM, Old Boys gathered over snacks
and tea on the majestic corridors of the Old Building.
ACOBA KARAOKE NIGHT
ACOBA organized Karaoke Night at Aitchison College which was a resounding success. Alumni, families and children created a lively and
inclusive atmosphere, filled with music, laughter, and memorable performances. Attendees showcased their vocal talents, singing popular hits
and nostalgic classics, which kept the energy high throughout the night. With exceptional attendance and positive feedback from participants,
the Karaoke Night not only strengthened the bond among the Aitchison community but also provided a valuable opportunity for Old Boys to
reconnect, fostering lasting ties. ACOBA extends its thanks to Old Boys comprising of Khawaja Imran Zubair, Mr. Wajid Aziz Khan, Mr. Amir
Jahangir, Mr. Usman Khan, Mr. Waseem Hassan, Mian Qasim Misbah, SyedSauranShah, Mr. Amir Javed Ali for their tireless efforts in making
the event a great success. ACOBA also thanks the President ACOBA Mr. Usman Haq and the ACOBA event management committee for
footing all expenses occurred on this occasion.
