Science and innovation are the key drivers in the speeding up of advancement in a
society, they specifically adjust the expectations for everyday comforts of the general
population, and the way they interface and speak with each other. Innovative
changes give a root to the headway of monetary advancement, wellbeing framework
and foundation. The improvement of science and innovation in creating nations
assumes a pivotal part in the change of poverty level, and mechanical headway can
be considered as a motor of development.
Some organizations like the Buraq Planetary Society, Intel International Science and
Engineering Fair, Pakistan Science Club and Khwarizmi Science Society have been
established without any government intervention in order to involve students in
creative activities. But all these are at a fundamental level that needs to be
overhauled to the advanced level by a systematic involvement of one or the other
governmental funding agencies.
Over the years, there has been a renewed interest in STEM education for children.
Furthermore, there has been an emphasis on using innovative and unconventional
ways of doing so. Many Pakistani organizations aim to promote science education
among young learners by offering them the opportunity to learn by ‘doing’.
“Science Fuse” is a social enterprise which gives children an opportunity to
experience science as a dramatic story of discovery. They are trying to change the
way science is perceived, practiced and narrated across classrooms in Pakistan to
inspire more children to pursue STEM (science, technology, engineering, and
mathematics) education and careers. Their after-school learning programs are fun,
interactive and hands-on. Moreover, these programs help children link science to
their everyday lives. They also inculcate a sense of curiosity and help children
develop critical thinking and logical reasoning skills.
The STEM Careers program has likewise been set up to motivate the youth of the
country to decide on professions in science, mathematics and engineering and
setting them up for support in the yearly International Olympiad in Physics,
Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics and to urge designing understudies to think of
imaginative answers for issues of national intrigue.
