OBITUARIES
Passing of Late Farhad Humayun
Old Aitchisonian and Pakistan music icon Farhad Humayun, Class of 1994 passed away
on Tuesday, 8th June, 2021. He was a drummer, talented vocalist, producer and sound
engineer; who in 2003 became an icon after forming Pakistan's first fusion band,
Overload. Both national and international audiences loved his drumming skills and
mesmerising vocals, a talent he discovered at a later stage of his career. His career
highlights include being the only Asian artist to represent Liberty Drums and having
played at Royal Albert Hall; a venue frequented by global music icons. Although most
remember him for his larger than life charisma, awe-inspiring talent and impact on
Pakistan's music spectrum, those close to him knew him for his infectious optimism,
energy, undying resilience and generosity in all scopes of life. He credited his resilience
and energy to the time he spent at Aitchison; qualities which he embodied throughout
his life.
Our condolences go forth to his family. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
