Tennis
Tennis was a hard-fought affair with ACOBA emerging as the winner 2 – 1. Shehryar Salamat from the
batch of 1995 gave a wonderful performance using his experience and pin-point accuracy in the majestic
setting at the footsteps of the Old Building. Mr. Michael Thomson (Principal) gave his heart out in the
invitational doubles.
Basketball
ACOBA reversed the tide again in Basketball where the old boys gave a scintillating performance in
clinching the match 41 - 27. The Aitchison team gave a strong fight in the 3rd quarter but ultimately fell
short. Illustrious seniors like Mr. Jahangir Elahi (captain of the ACOBA team) and Mr. Arif Saeed partici-
pated in the festivities.
Cricket
As always, Cricket was the center of attention and a highly intense affair at the Main Cricket Ground.
Aitchison Cricket Team under the guidance of Coach Riaz did extremely well to restrict ACOBA to 241
in 40 overs. Ammar Azam from the batch of 2000 was tremendous with the bat scoring an exciting 68 off
32 balls. In reply, Aitchison struggled initially as Hamza Naveed from the batch of 2010 was simply
unplayable in his opening spell conceding just 3 runs in 4 overs. Aitchison came roaring back in the
middle overs but ultimately fell short by only 17 runs. It was indeed a great day of cricket and an auspi-
cious gathering. Families of Aitchison faculty and staff, many prominent old boys including Sahibzada
Fakhar Imam, Mr. Anwar Tiwana, Mian Afzal Hayat, Mr. MunirMonnoo, President, Vice-President, Gen-
eral Secretary, Joint Secretary, Treasurer, Director Sports of ACOBA and ACOBA CEC members graced
the occasion.
After seven long years, ACOBA finally won back the Aitchison Challenge Cup, winning the Rubber by 8
points to 4 points. Of course, none of the sporting festivities would have been possible without the hard
and dedicated work of the Aitchison Sporting Department, Office of the Bursar, Alumni Office and the
Grounds Staff. Mr. Bhatti once again was superb with his cameras showing his versatility in handling all
types of sporting action
