AITCHISON WINS BEST DELEGATION
AT LUMS PSIFI IX
CRICKET RETURNS TO THE TOP
New life has been breathed into sports at Aitchison, through the provision of excellent sports facilities
and an exceptional focus on training, development and the cultivation of a healthy sports culture.
Our boys have demonstrated great skill, energy and discipline at numerous cricket fixtures, heralding a
powerful revival of the game at the College. It is with great joy that we share with you some recent devel-
opments and highlights of cricket at Aitchison.
The Dubai tour was a major event that provided excellent opportunity for our boys to challenge them-
selves and to gain valuable international exposure. Our U-16 Team performed excellently and returned
with higher confidence, raised aspirations and a stronger passion for the game. In addition to interna-
tional tours, our boys have been regularly playing matches against other schools and academies. They
receive regular training at our fully equipped Cricket Academy (6 synthetic nets and bowling machines).
The College Cricket Team will be visiting England in June this year and is all charged up for matches
against teams from St. Edwards, Oratory, Marlborough, Eton and Wellington.
Moreover, our boys Muhammad Ibtesam-ul-Haq (H2), Naail Arif Dar (H1) and Syed Faridoun Mahmood
(H1) have already played domestic cricket, expanding their horizons and making us proud of their
achievements.
LUMS PSIFI, which is recognised as the most prestigious Science
Olympiad in all of Pakistan, was held from 13th - 16th January,
2018. Aitchison College Science Society (ACSS) sent a delegation to
this prestigious event. Our delegation successfully struck the record
of winning the best delegation for the 3rd time in 4 years. Team-
work, one of the fundamental principles taught at Aitchison, was
brilliantly exhibited by the delegation as it won laurels in various
events all across the spectrum. Clinching 5 events and finishing as
runners up in two events, the teams comprised of students from C1
all the way to H2. Some of the events in which the Aitchisonians
were unvanquished were Tech Wars, Geek Wars, Maths Maze, Vin-
edUp, TH!NK and Science Crime Busters.
In Tech Wars, the students were required to show their efficiency in
programmes like Kerbel Space Programme, Scratch and Photoshop
while in Science Crime Busters, the students had to put their deduc-
tive skills to test as they were presented with a mind-boggling mys-
tery. Despite the difficulty of these events, with university teams
like FAST also competing, our delegation was able to overcome all
these obstacles and was declared the overall best delegation at the
event.
