Aitchison College U-16 Cricket Team Tour to Dubai
Another highlight was the visit from the PCB team including Mr. Mudassar Nazar, Director of the
National Cricket Academy (NCA) and senior coaches who guided our students and staff. Skills sessions
were enjoyed by our top cricketers. Several Test greats were on hand to give advice.
The Aitchison College Games Department has been managing an extremely busy sports schedule in all
three schools. Starting as early as Junior School, great effort has been put into developing and maintain-
ing a rigorous training program and a competitive cricket environment over the last year.
This is the beginning of a cricket revival at Aitchison College, guided by the visionary leadership of Col-
lege Principal Mr. Michael Thomson and the sterling work of new Director of Cricket and Kelly House-
master Mr. JonWright, 1st XI Coach Mr. Riaz and all coaches of Prep and Junior boys. It is the harbinger
of many more successes. With the kind of space and sports facilities that Aitchison provides, one cannot
expect anything less. Moreover, the implementation of our Sports Master Plan will further ensure con-
tinuous advancement of sports at Aitchison College.
Aitchison College U-16 Cricket team played a four
matches series in the UAE from 15th - 21st January,
2018. The tour was an ideal learning experience
and a great opportunity for the boys to represent
Aitchison College at an international forum. Aitchi-
son won three matches out of four, displaying great
skill and teamwork.
The first match was played against the Cricket
School of Excellence (C.S.E) where batting first
C.S.E scored 209 runs for 2 wickets in 25 overs.
Aitchison College chasing the total could manage to
score 197 runs and lost by 12 runs.
The second match was played against the Young
Talent Cricket Academy. Aitchison won the toss and
batting first scored 220 runs for 5 wickets in 25
overs. YTCA could only score 176 runs and Aitchi-
son won by 44 runs. Nehaal Arif was declared the
best bowler of the match, bowling 5 overs giving 31
runs and taking 1 wicket.
The third match was played against the Ajman
Cricket Academy. Aitchison winning the toss once
again batted first and scored 195 runs for 7 wickets
in 20 overs. Ajman Cricket Academy was restricted
to 138 runs and Aitchison won the match by 57
runs. Mohammad Muneeb Wasif was awarded the
best batsman and the man of the match for his sen-
sational knock of 85 runs off 52 balls.
The last and final match was played against the
Pakistan Islamic High School. Aitchison bowling
first restricted the opposition to 114 runs in 20
overs. Aitchison chased the target in 14.5 overs
winning by 9 wickets. Mohammad Muneeb Wasif
was awarded the man of the match for his elegant
inning of 52 runs of 46 balls and taking 01 wicket
for 16 runs in 4 overs.
