OBITUARIES
The late Malik Nasir Khan joined Aitchison College in 1964
and left the College after his Intermediate Examination in
1977. At Aitchison College, he was awarded a full College
Blazer for his excellent performance in Hockey, Football and
Athletics. He was a College Prefect and was recipient of the
Victor-Ludorum Cup for being the best sportsman of Godley
House (1976). He represented Pakistan in the Junior
Olympics and played a key role in Pakistan's victory in the
1979 edition of the Junior Hockey World Cup. He was given
the title of 'Golden Stick' for his brilliant performance. He
excelled in all sports and is remembered as a gifted
sportsman. He started his political career by taking part in
Local Bodies Elections and served as Member of District
Council Bannu in 1983 and 1987. He was elected as a
Member of NWFP Assembly in 1988 and 1993. He served in
the NWFP Cabinet as Minister for Sports, Tourism and
Culture.
He was later elected as a member of National Assembly in
1997.
Old Boy and former Pakistani hockey player Malik Nasir
Khan passed away in Peshawar on Friday 9th November,
2018.

Prominent political leader and tribal head of the Bhayo
community in Shikarpur, Sardar Wahid Bukhsh Khan Bhayo
passed away on Thursday, 13th December, 2018 at the age
of 65.
He attended Aitchison College from 1965 to 1973. At
Aitchison, the former Godleyite received house colour in
Football, as well as the Ranbir Shamsher Jung Art Prize for
the best artist in the College.
Bhayo was a senior leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party
(PPP) and remained a member of its Central Executive
Committee. He also served as a member of the Provincial
Assembly of Sindh.

Ahmed Shujaan

The tragic news of Ahmed's passing
left the College in mourning. Head
Boy 2013, Captain of Cricket and
later admitted to Harvard University
a r e s o m e o f h i s r e m a r k a b l e
achievements. Loved and respected
by all, he was a boy looked up to from
all quarters. He was a young man with
the brightest of futures and great
deeds ahead of him.During the week
following his death, the flag flew at
half-mast and Friday assembly held a
minute's silence in respect. The Ist XI
dedicated their match and win
against the Pakistan Women's
Cricket team the next day to Ahmed.
All boys stood beneath his name on
the honour board before the match to
hear of his achievements. Our Junior
Swimming Carnival also recognized
him in its opening prayer. The Ahmed
Shujan Challenge Cup for best all-
rounder in cricket was introduced in
his honour. Our deepest sympathy
and prayers go out to his family and
especially his brother Seljuk (Deputy
Head Boy 2017-18 and also admitted
to Harvard).
Ahmed Shujaan Gondal, one of the
most talented boys to have studied
and played at Aitchison College,
unfortunately passed away on
Tuesday 25th September, 2018.
