11. General Conclusion.—I hope to have an early opportunity of mect-
ing the new Principal and discussing with him the main problems which
will inevitably demand his early attention. I have already referred briefly
in the course of this report tv certain aspects of the present situation which
must cause concern to all those responsible for or interested in the well-
being of the College. I do not, however, wish hy any means to imply that
the ontlook is one of unrelieved gloom. The College has many assets and an
honourable record of success both in werk and in play. T cannot believe that
any institution of its standing which is prepared (o adapt itself to changing
conditions and provide instruction snited to the needs of the future Rulers
of India. whether kumars or non-kumars, wil] lack support once its objec-
tives are known.
My thanks in conclusion are due to Mr. Goodridge beth for his hospi-
tality and for his ready response to my requests for information about the
College.
