The Jafar Memorial Hockey Championship returned to Aitchison in 2022. Played in honour of the Late Syed Mohammad Jafar,
the aim is to promote junior hockey through healthy inter-school competition, with the necessary facilities for improving the
game. Aitchison U-17 played in this year's final, after which a Jafar XI was chosen from among all competing teams. The Jafar XI
played the National U-13 team, losing narrowly 4/3. The Chief Guest Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shirazi (Old Boy, AC'1979, Godley
House) distributed trophies, shields and medals among the players. We are proud that four Aitchison boys made the Jafar XI,
and also satisfied that Syed Mohammed Jafar's peerless name continues to be associated with the best spirit and intentions of
hockey.
