Policy on Disruptive Social Behaviours, Aitchison College
20
In extreme cases, respective HM and Head of Discipline will decide the appropriate duration of monitoring
keeping in mind the developmental level of the student(s) and other necessary factors.
In cases where the student is exhibiting a psychological pattern, the psychologist will advise respective
teachers/HM on how to and for how long to monitor a student, including what signs to look out for, depending
on the case.
7.3 Parent Involvement
Every time a student is involved in any incident where the college finds necessary reason to monitor him,
parents will be notified through a letter by the HM about the behaviour of the student, what sanctions were
given and that the particular student is now under observation. See annexe 7 for sample email communication
with parents regarding student monitoring.
All monitoring details/progress forms will remain confidential (i.e. only those directly involved in addressing
the problem behaviour will have access to the form(s)). Additionally, all important information will be shared
with parents and where input is required, the respective HM will communicate directly with them.
