The Anthem of
Perseverance
Syed Nadir Ali Sherazi
M2F1
Beneath the crushing weight, the earth birthed a scream,
A cry not of despair, but rebellion carved in stone.
Man rose, a fracture in eternity’s seamless dream,
An ember of defiance where the void stood alone—
Thus began the hymn of flesh against machine.
The winds tore at him, howling their decree,
The rains fell heavy, drowning all sound but breath.
And every step forward was thus a heresy,
A denial of the pact between life and death—
For the soul is a beast that craves eternity.
Time turned its blade, relentless and cold,
It cleaved the weak, but sharpened his will.
Pain became scripture, his scars the scroll,
Each wound a covenant, unbroken, still—
He bore the weight of collapse, yet refused to fold.
Through fire his bones were stripped to marrow,
Through storm his veins burned with molten resolve.
The mountains mocked him, distant and narrow,
Yet he climbed, his blood the solution to all—
For perseverance is the alchemy of sorrow.
And when he reached the edge of the sky,
The summit crumbled beneath his daring step.
Still, he stood, not as victor but reply,
For even in ruin, remained a promise kept—
Man’s anthem, a roar that makes one ponder in depth.
