From The Headmaster’s Desk…
Aitchison College Preparatory School’s Preppy 2025 remains a demonstration of our alma mater’s
distinct excellence. It unfolds the enthusiasm of our pupils to showcase their true aesthetic as well
as their creative abilities.
The encouragement and upholstery of Prep School not only cultivates in its students a desire for
curriculum-based learning and critical thinking, but also ignites in them a passion for co-curricu-
lar activities. Our weekly sessions of Clubs & Societies, in this regard, offer a plethora of programs
that instill within our students a love for academic and non-academic initiatives. They mold our
students to experience and appreciate the scientific, literary, artistic and technical activities being
carried out here week after week. Similarly, the annual Languages Festival allows our students to
experience and appreciate foreign cultures and cuisines, ranging from English, Arabic, French,
German and Chinese to Persian. Likewise, the yearly English and Urdu plays, (All Summer in a
Day and Bachay Mann Kay Sachay, respectively) too allow kids to step onto the literary terrain
therein, to witness the psychological development of their characters amidst similar day-to-day
instances. However, apart from performance arts, a multitude of sports is also offered here to
allow our young Aitchisonians to equally experience and enjoy the open-air sporting contests
which benefit them not only physically, but also inculcate in them ideals of hard work, fair play
and leadership.
Our students imbibe the Aitchisonian spirit not just through books, rather also via a paradigm of
self-consciousness and social responsibility, inculcated through regular schooling both inside and
outside the classroom. One such example of sessions of ethical schooling might include the morn-
ing assemblies where our young minds are regularly enlightened not just with contemporary
local and world news, as well as briefings about impending national and international days of
importance, but also with the Head teacher’s addresses about school etiquette – ranging from a
stress on carpooling and wearing masks to curb smog, to responsibly discarding litter during
break times, and vigilantly submitting any misplaced / left-out belongings in the school office,
and/or remaining polite and respectful towards fellow students and staff at all times.
Likewise, to further ensure a thoroughly healthy physical and emotional nurturing of our
Prep-sonians, The Prep School Office thoroughly delves into issues pertaining to student learning
and behavior within the school premises – including the corridor, the classroom and the field –
through routine knowledge walks, surprise classroom visits and impromptu one-on-one sessions
with students and teachers. Here, worth mentioning would also be the Year-Level Coordinators
(YLCs) who tend to virtually report to the student and parental body about all upcoming educa-
tional, co-curricular and sport endeavors happening within the Prep School year-around, as well
as plan remedial lessons for struggling boarding and day scholars, to promote them in respective
areas of difficulty, during after-school coaching sessions. Similarly, the School also engages a
Student Counselor as well as a Physiotherapist to hold regular confidential counseling sessions
for pupils facing certain behavioral issues.
Thus, it is taken up as the ultimate obligation to cultivate such exuberant values which shall aid
our young learners farther along their meandering path to enlightenment. To become a true gen-
tleman par excellence is then to enunciate these ethics in every aspect of life. At our School, boys
come to us as kids and later leave to pursue the future endeavors of their literary realm as better
adults-in-the-becoming, through a religious observation of practices of self-awareness and com-
munal ownership that they practice during the years they spend with us.
At the end, I would like to give a hearty congratulation to the Editorial Board as well as the
concerned Staff Advisors of the Preppy 2025, for not only compiling such a vast array of brilliant
writings but also for thoroughly encapsulating the co-curricular and sporting activities our
youngsters participate in throughout the year. Let me wish all readers a great time sifting through
the brilliantly crafted pages of this yearly magazine.
