IP Address
IP(Internet Protocol) address is a unique identifier for
devices on the Internet (WAN).
Can be static (doesn’t change) or dynamic (can change).
Static IPs are used for servers and websites for consistent
addressing.
Dynamic IPs are assigned automatically by a DHCP server.
IP addresses ensure data is delivered to the correct device.
A device’s IP address changes when it connects to a
different network.
IPv4
IPv4 is represented as 4 blocks of decimal numbers (0–255)
separated by full stops.
Each block = 1 byte (8 bits), total address = 4 bytes (32
bits).
