7.3.1 Designing Algorithms
7.2.2 Advantages of Sub-Systems
● A structure diagram shows us an hierarchical order of things, dividing problems
into sub-sections. One such diagram can be observed below.
● An algorithm is precise sets of rules to solve a specific problem. There are three
main ways to design an algorithm:
❖ Structure Diagrams
❖ Flowcharts
❖ Pseudocode
● The ability to troubleshoot problems in a computer system is greatly enhanced by
dividing it into sub-systems.
● Isolating each sub-system makes it easier to identify and fix issues, as every
component can be examined separately without affecting the entire system. This
approach is also essential in software development, where different sub-systems
are used to ensure efficient operation and performance.
● It provides developers with a clear understanding of how these sub-systems work
together to build and maintain complex systems.
