Answer:B Explanation: Option A is wrong since the point is not even inside the system. Option
B is correct because a broader base and lower centre of gravity indicates more stability. Options
C and D are both incorrect because they indicate higher centres of gravity than B and narrower
bases, so it is likely that the man would have fallen over if any of them were the actual centre of
gravity.
Answer:B Explanation: The impulse of an object is the same as the change in its momentum.
This is given by the formula I=m(v-u), where I = impulse, m = mass, v = final velocity and u =
initial velocity. So I = 50((10)-(2)) = 50(8) = 400 Ns. So the answer is B.
Answer:C Explanation: Since the speed is the same and mass remains constant, kinetic energy
also remains the same because K.E=½*m*v2. However, since momentum is a vector quantity,
it will change because it also includes direction and the direction of the molecule has changed.
Answer:A Explanation: This is a speed-time graph and from P to Q the speed is clearly
increasing over time so the car is accelerating. This rules out C and D. From Q to R the car is
still moving at a constant speed above zero so it is not at rest. This means B is also eliminated
making A the answer.
Answer:D Explanation: This is a distance-time graph in the diagram. Since the gradient of a
distance time graph is speed and the gradient is uniform throughout the whole graph, it means
speed is constant, so D is correct. The other options are all wrong.
