Q1) C: P=mv=(4)(3)=12kgm/s
Q2) A: change in momentum= m(v-u)=5(-4-3)=-35kgm/s
Q3) C: change in momentum= m(v-u)=0.3(-2-3)=-1.5kgm/s
Q4) B: Impulse=FxT= 3x(2x60)=360Ns
Q5) D: momentum of ball with mass 3 kg is 18kgm/s and of ball with mass
2kg is -4kgm/s. Total momentum is 18-4=14kgm/s. mv=14, v=14/m
v=14/(5)=2.8m/s
Q6) C: Momentum of car= 1000x8=8000kgm/s and Momentum of Lorry=
3000x2= 6000kgm/s. Total momentum= 8000+6000=14000kgm/s.
mv=14000 v=14000/total combined mass= 14000/4000=3.5m/s
Q7) C: Impulse=change in momentum = Fxt=mv (mu=0) F=mv/t=
(0.4x25)/0.05=F=200N
Q8) C: Impulse=change in momentum=Fxt=m(v-u) t=m(v-u)/F
= 0.057kg(-15-25)/35=t=0.065s(ignore negative sign)
