Temperature and Energy of Particles
Effect of Temperature on Particle Movement:
Temperature increase increases particle kinetic energy, causing faster movement.
In gases, higher temperatures increase particle speed and frequency of collisions,
raising pressure ( in a closed container ) . Since pressure is force over area , more force
exerted due to more collisions in the same area leads to higher pressure
.
Absolute Zero:
The theoretical point (0 Kelvin or 273 °C) where particles would be stationary,
representing the lowest possible temperature.
The Conversion rate from Kelvin to Celsius and Vice versa is :
Temp in K = temp in C + 273 (make C the subject if required to find celsius)
