Endothermic Reactions
• Endothermic reactions are reactions in which low enthalpy reactants are converted into high
enthalpy products.
• On the basis of bond energy, endothermic reactions are those reactions in which the amount of
energy absorbed during bond breaking is greater than the amount of energy released during bond
formation.
• In endothermic reactions, heat is absorbed and the temperature of the surroundings falls.
Examples of Endothermic Reactions:
• Photosynthesis
• Thermal Decomposition
• Electrolysis
