Birds of Aitchison College
If Lahore is the city of gardens, Aitchison College is microcosm of
this city. The numerous kinds of plants embellish the large grounds
and house all kinds of birds. Everything about the anatomy of a bird
reflects its ability to fly. Birds come in a huge range of colours,
which help them to camouflage.
Owls: Owls are the rarest bird in Aitchison College. These owls.
belong to the special category of birds that sleep during the day and
wait up at night. They make different types of noises like hooting
and growling. They have round shaped eyes like tube in shape. Owls
can turn their heads almost all the way around.
Woodpeckers: Woodpecker is also a rare kind of bird in Lahore and
this rare bird can be seen in our college. They are sometimes seen
drilling a hole in the towering trees of the school and seen flittered
across the sky. They do this to find insects to eat. They wear a
diclinous colorful sheet which helps to recognize this small creature
even from a distance.
Pigeons: Pigeons are known as incredibly beautiful and attractive
birds. It is a small, domesticated bird. They eat seeds. There are also
white pigeons that fly in the clean air of Aitchison college. They are
found in many colors such as white, gray, and brown. They have
noticeably short hair on their body, which helps them control their
body temperature.
