General Tips
General Exam Tips:
● Start revising early- for example those giving their CIE exams in May/June 2026
should start studying around mid- February before the exam season starts.
● Use the official syllabus to make sure you cover every topic.
● Practice past papers regularly AND check mark schemes to understand where you
went wrong and how you can improve.
● Focus on understanding concepts rather than memorizing word-for-word notes.
● Make sure to know what the key terms: define, explain, analyse, evaluate, mean.
● Manage your time during the exam — don’t spend too long on one question. If you
find one question pretty tricky, do not waste time on it.
● Adding on to the previous point, when you start your exam go through the paper
and start with the easiest question to ‘warm yourself up’ and to make sure you do
not waste time unnecessarily.
● Read every question carefully, especially data or case study questions.
● Revise definitions and keywords for every topic.
● Do timed past papers to improve speed and accuracy. This will improve your
confidence as well.
● Sleep well the night before (8-10 hours) and eat a light meal before the exam. Stay
well hydrated so you do not get a headache.
● Keep your stationary, calculator, SOE, and CNIC ready the night before.
