Past Paper Questions:
“You alone we worship and Your aid we seek.” (1:5)
“There is nothing like Him, and He sees and hears all things.” (42:11)
However, the souls of the dead have no power over the living — they cannot
answer prayers, protect people, or grant wishes.
All such acts of worship should be directed to Allah alone, as He alone has control
over all things.
Quranic Reference:
(ii) Deifying Humans: This means giving human beings divine powers or names
that belong only to Allah. For example, some Christians call Mary the “Mother of
God” or describe her as “the Merciful.” Believing that anyone other than Allah has
the power to create, forgive sins, or control destiny is also shirk.
4(a) Associating partners (shirk) is opposed to believing in the oneness of God
(tawhid) and can be divided into three main categories. Write about each
category. [10]

3. Shirk in Allah’s Names and Attributes
This shirk occurs when Allah’s unique qualities and powers are given to others or
when He is compared to His creation.
It is divided into two main types:
(i) Humanizing Allah:
This means describing Allah in human form or giving Him human traits.
Examples include depicting Allah in paintings or believing that He appeared on earth
in a physical form.
Christianity holds this belief by saying Jesus is God incarnate.
The Quran rejects this completely:
