4. Shura (42:4-5)
a)This verse beautifully highlights Tawhid by pointing towards Allah’s signs in nature —
especially the sun and the moon. It reminds humanity that these magnificent creations are not
gods or objects of worship but symbols of Allah’s power. Their precise motion and order are
evidence of the Creator’s wisdom and control. The Qur’an says, “Behold! In the creation of the
heavens and the earth and the alternation of night and day there are indeed signs for those who

absolute authority over all that exists. Everything in the heavens and the earth belongs solely to
Him, and He governs His creation with complete command. His glory is so immense that the
heavens themselves tremble and are almost torn apart from above by His magnificence. The

b)In daily life, this verse serves as a constant reminder for Muslims to recognize Allah’s
presence in every aspect of the natural world. By reflecting on His creation — from the sunrise to
the rhythm of night and day — believers can strengthen their awareness of His greatness. It
encourages humility, gratitude, and a stronger connection with Allah through reflection and
worship. Muslims are reminded not to worship material things or depend on worldly power, for
everything in the universe is temporary except Allah. This verse cultivates the habit of reflection
(tafakkur), helping Muslims grow spiritually and view their surroundings as signs of Allah’s
wisdom and mercy.
